Media sosial adalah aplikasi atau platform digital yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk berinteraksi, berkomunikasi, membuat, dan berbagi konten secara daring tanpa batasan ruang dan waktu.

Platform ini memfasilitasi interaksi sosial secara dua arah antara individu atau kelompok, seperti membuat profil, terhubung dengan orang lain, dan berbagi pemikiran, foto, atau video. 

Contoh platform media sosial yakni Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, X (dulu Twitter) hingga WhatsApp.

Sebagai latihan, pada soal Bahasa Inggris kelas 12 halaman 117-121 Kurikulum Merdeka, murid diminta untuk menjawab sejumlah pertanyaan berdasarkan teks “Are Social Media Platforms Safe?”.
