Kunci Jawaban Bahasa Inggris Kelas 11 SMA/MA halaman 36 Activity 9:
Soal:
5. How does the stone symbolize the balance between humanity and nature?
6. What character's actions in the story represent the concept of environmental responsibility?
7. There is a saying, 'Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.' It shows that curiosity can lead to danger or disaster, but it can also be satisfaction when people realize what they need.
How does this saying apply to the legend of the sacred stone?
8. What would you do if you were Irimiami and Isoray? Why would you do that?
9. How does the story encourage us to think about the relationship between cultural traditions and environmental conservation?
10. What would you do to protect the environment if you were the story’s characters? How would your deed help nature?
Jawaban:
5. The stone represents the consequences of human actions. When humans are careless or greedy (testing its power), the stone becomes a destructive force (fire). But when respected, it becomes a "sacred" reminder of their duty to protect the land. It shows that nature can be a source of life or a disaster, depending on how we treat it.
6. The villagers' actions at the end of the story represent responsibility. They stopped being careless, presented offerings to ask for forgiveness, and started a tradition of "feasts and ceremonies" to honor and protect the land. Their commitment to making sure the land is safe for "future generations" is the peak of environmental responsibility.
